Who We Serve
We believe the true foundations of healthcare—charity, grace, and goodwill—are essential to patient-centered care. Telos focuses on the underserved, bringing music therapy to people who often lack access to behavioral health support.
• Those experiencing anxiety and depression
• Those struggling with addiction
• Survivors of trauma
• At-risk youth
• Veterans and first responders
• People experiencing homelessness
• The elderly
• Those at the end of life
What is Telos?
Telos is an ancient Greek word, referring to an object's ultimate aim or purpose.

We believe purpose is vital to human flourishing.
Ours is built upon 3 pillars - each of which is represented by a string on the lyre of our logo.

Our Pillars
Philosophy of Care
Telos was founded on the belief that working in healthcare is both a privilege and a calling - without exception. And in that spirit, we are proud to share our tripartite philosophy:
-
We believe in the equal and immeasurable worth of all human life.
-
We believe in grace, non-judgement, and unconditional positive regard for all clients.
-
We believe that no person is beyond hope or healing.
Mission, Vision & Values
Telos Music Therapy brings light to the darkest places in healthcare by ensuring that music therapy is available to those who need it most.
We envision a community where clients who lack resources have access to effective therapy, and providers get to engage in meaningful, life-giving work.
That work is guided by service, dignity, charity, hope, and excellence.
About the Founder
Telos was founded in 2025 by Stephen Choate — a board-certified music therapist, educator, and healthcare administrator. Through Telos, he seeks to expand access to meaningful and effective music therapy for those who need it most.
